Simple Egg Parantha/ Dim Parantha Recipe: With Step by Step pictures
- knead the flour with a pinch of salt in the usual manner into a semi firm dough. Adding oil is up to you. You can also use left over dough from the fridge. Just make sure that it is brought to room temperature before rolling.
- Chop the vegetables ( tomato, capsicum, onion , green chilli) finely. Larger peices take more time to cook.
- Break an egg into a bowl, add the vegetables and mix thoroughly. add salt to taste.
- Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a round shaped parantha. Heat you tawa and place the parantha on it.
- When you see bubble appear on topside, turn it over .
- Now turn the flame down. Take a dry cloth and press gently the parantha gently until it puffs up.
- Take a knife and cut open a the parantha from one side. Be careful with this step. the hot air escaping through the cut can burn your fingers.
- Pour the egg mixture inside and spread it evenly.
- close the mouth of the slit and turn the parantha over. Add oil to the side and let it cook for 15 seconds on medium flame.
- Turn it over and let the other side cook. The parantha will puff up as the egg inside is getting cooked.
- Slice it open to let out the steam and check if the vegetables have cooked.
p.s. : You can a host of add-ons with this..cheese being my favourite..more stuffed paranthas coming soon..:)
