Hello
everyone,
Today I
shall be reviewing VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Day Cream with SPF 25, which
I have been using for quite some time now. It claims to even out skin tone and
lighten dark spots.
Product Description:-
Liquorice, the root extract is infused with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory
properties which help in maintaining a flawless skin. It contains an active
compound glabridin that prevents skin darkening caused by sun damage. Moreover it fades
away pigmentation and
sun damage and leaves you a skin that is brighter, clearer and hydrated.
Mulberry, the super food regulates the process of melanin synthesis, which
helps in formation of a protective pigment found in inner layers of epidermis,
further absorbing the UV rays and inhibiting their penetration. It reduces the
dark spots and scars, and helps achieve a clear and radiant glow. Both of these
active ingredients are blended together in VLCC Skin Whitening Day Cream to
treat dull, dark and lifeless skin, caused due to melanin accumulation and sun
exposure. Wear it during the day to prevent re-occurrence of dark spots and
pigmentation and to keep glowing.
Benefits:
– Evens skin tone
– Lightens dark spots
– Suitable for all skin types
Price:-
405 INR for 50gm
Packaging:-
The cream comes in a
white and pink tub which comes enclosed in a pink and white cardboard box. The lid
is dome shaped and has screw mechanism. The tub is sturdy and travel friendly.
My experience with VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream:-
First let me
tell you, I have seen people’s obsession with fairness and ‘white skin’ since
childhood and still don’t understand why the labels state that fairness of skin
equates to loveliness of personality. Often people with darker skin tones
suffer from lower self-confidence, which often impacts their personal and
professional life. So for companies, “Whitening” and “Fairness” products seem
like such an obvious business model. Having whiter skin is an aspiration for
many and these fairness and skin whitening creams have espoused to be the cure
for dark skin. You have to be fair, to be lovely. Bullshit!
To start
with, this cream is white in color and has a typical ‘fairness cream’ texture;
kind of synthetic satiny (it is very hard to describe!). It smells amazing and
that is what I like the most. The cream is on the thicker side and needs effort
to blend. It also takes time to get absorbed into skin. After few minutes, my
face starts sweating profusely. I have no option but to either rub it off or
pack on compact over it. I have used the tiniest amount of product possible,
but same problem. Note that I have normal to dry skin. But thank God it doesn’t
leave a white cast. Presence of SPF makes it convenient to use during the day.
Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-
What I LIKE about VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Day Cream With SPF 25:-
- Amazing fragrance.
- Contains
SPF.
- Doesn't
irritate sensitive skin.
- Doesn’t leave
white cast.
- Moisturizing.
- Easily
available.
- Sturdy and
travel friendly packaging.
What I DON’T LIKE about VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Day Cream With
SPF 25:-
- Oily,
combination skinned people should avoid using this.
- Takes effort
to blend.
- Takes time
to get absorbed into skin.
- Makes skin
sweat like crazy.
- I have been using
this since February, and it didn’t lighten any of my pimple marks or dark spots.
- Contains
Parabens.
FINAL THOUGHTS:-
I hate bashing
products, but this failed to impress me. I spend time and gave efforts to make
it work, but alas! However, I shall continue using this product in the hope to
get some result. Lets see …
