VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream Review

We all know how important night creams are, don’t we?! After all the torture our skin goes through during the day, at night it repairs, regenerates and works in restoring the natural glow. A night cream helps in that restoration process; by supplying adequate moisture to your skin, keeping it well hydrated, soft and supple. A few night creams also ensure that your skin has an even complexion along with having a finer texture.

Today’s review is on VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream which claims to revitalize and nourish your skin, lighten skin, reduce pigmentation and early signs of ageing.

My experience with VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream:-

First let me tell you, I have seen people’s obsession with fairness since childhood and still don’t understand why the labels state that fairness of skin equates to loveliness of personality. Often people with darker skin tones suffer from lower self-confidence, which often impacts their personal and professional life. So for companies, “Whitening” and “Fairness” products seem like such an obvious business model. Having whiter skin is aspirational for many and these fairness and skin whitening creams have espoused to be the cure for dark skin. You have to be fair, to be lovely. Bullshit! 

Well, when I received this product from the brand for review, I made up my mind that I shall use it only as a night cream and simply ignore the whitening claims.
I have normal to dry skin tone, which becomes drier during winters and this night cream isn’t a winter night cream for me. I received this on the first week of February and I have been using this ardently since then.  When I started using this, even after applying a generous amount, my skin felt thirsty for more moisture. I became truly disappointed, but didn’t stop using it. Now, as the weather has warmed up, it feels perfect. The color of the cream is white with a texture which is neither too heavy, nor too light. It gets absorbed in no time and doesn’t make skin greasy. The fragrance is mild, refreshing. In the morning, my skin feels soft, supple and radiant. I am loving it now, just love how my skin feels in the morning.
I received two tubs and thus gave one to my mother-in-law. She has blemishes and spots, but sorry to disappoint you all, this has done nothing to reduce them.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I LIKE about VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream:-

• Hydrating.
• Skin feels smooth, soft and supple in the morning.
• Fast absorbing.
• Non greasy.
• Feels light on skin, even in summers.
• Amazing fragrance.
• Doesn't irritate sensitive skin.
• Easily available.
• Sturdy and travel friendly packaging.

What I DON’T LIKE about VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream:-

• Tub packaging is unhygienic to use.
• It does nothing to reduce spots, blemishes, dark circles or fine lines.
• Contains Parabens.

FINAL THOUGHTS:-
It is a decent night cream that provides adequate hydration and moisturisation without leaving skin greasy or breaking out. But note that, the whitening and lightening skin tone claims are not true, and you might be disappointed if you buy this just to lighten your spots and whiten your skin. I would suggest you to use this cream as a nourishing night cream that leaves your skin buttery soft in the morning; you won’t be left disappointed then.
